Profile: Personal research directions: Advanced materials for extreme service conditions encountered in various industrial sectors, including nuclear energy, aerospace, solar power, microelectronics, etc. Main research directions in the past 10 years: liquid metal corrosion studies for Gen-IV lead-fast reactors (LFRs), development of innovative nuclear materials for advanced nuclear systems based on the MAX phases, accident-tolerant fuels (ATFs) for Gen-II/III light water reactors (LWRs), coordination of large-scale international collaborations (H2020 IL TROVATORE, I-NERI PERSEUS, etc.) that target the expedited deployment of innovative ATF cladding materials, application-driven design of advanced (nuclear) materials based on material-specific processing-microstructure-properties correlations, etc.
