Profile: Shiladitya is the Research Manager of Materials at TWI- an organisation he joined after a PhD in Materials from the University of Cambridge, UK. He is also the Director of Materials Innovation Centre and Associate Professor in Materials Engineering at the University of Leicester, UK. Dr Paul specialises in coatings and corrosion. He has authored over 100 papers on materials, coatings and corrosion. He is active in the scientific community as a peer-reviewer and member of the editorial team of several journals. He is also active in several international scientific and industrial committees (vice chair of European Federation of Corrosion WP9). Chair of the 2021 NACE symposium on ‘Corrosion in Supercritical Systems’. He is a member (Judge) of the International Thermal Spray Conference (ITSC) and the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology (JTST) best paper award committees. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK and also a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining UK.
